I do love a day out in Brighton. A magical place known as London-by-Sea, it’s sort of completely perfect to loon around being in love there what with its quirky shops, colourful houses, and funfair on the pier. You can’t not have a good time in Brighton.
The engagement shoot of Alex and Audrey is so beautiful, not only because of the fabulous photography from Paola De Paola Photography and colourful backdrops, but because these two are just head over heels loved-up. I don’t think they would notice if the world ended around them, they’re so into each other! I couldn’t stop grinning looking at these pictures. Somewhere in my head, PJ Harvey’s This is Love started up.
How we met
Our mutual friends came up with this idea of introducing us, but couldn’t find the right moment until one day when I was walking down the street in Forest Hill and literally bumped into them together with Audrey. We’ve been together ever since – four happy years and many more to come!
We both secretly came up with the same idea to propose to each other at exactly the same time, on our second anniversary, and were working on two totally different plans. Then at some point, I found out what Audrey was up to and had to confess about my intentions, too! We ended up going for a romantic trip to Barcelona and exchanging the rings we designed together!
What made you choose to do an engagement shoot?
Like most people, we are camera shy, so we wanted to get used to the camera and bond with Paola before the stress of the big day hit us. It was a great experience, and we really enjoyed it!
Tell us about the day
We chose Brighton because this was where we went for our first trip together, so it will always be a special place for us. It’s also a very arty and pretty town, so each and every corner was full of photographic opportunities. The pictures turned out amazing; couldn’t have asked for more!
