They’re poppin’ up all over the place these alternative wedding fairs, and I for one say YES!! It’s a much needed thing to have all styles of bride, groom and wedding catered for in the world of wedding planning, and this movement is gathering momentum.
Enter onto the scene, That Alternative Wedding Fair. This is being held over two days at Fargo Creative Village in Coventry later this month. I’ll let the organisers tell you more!
It’s YOUR day, and we want it to be YOUR way!
Which is why we have gathered together the best alternative, bespoke, edgy, innovative, original, quirky, vintage and contemporary wedding suppliers, small businesses, entertainers, food suppliers, and everything else in between, and put them all under one roof for you.
On each day of the event, there will be something different, new and exciting for you, and everything you see will be hire-able for your big day.
There will be up to 30 stalls exhibiting, including bespoke wedding dress designers, origami flowers, homemade table decorations, quirky cake makers, independent jewellery designers, vintage travel and much more.
Saturday, April 18th: Let’s party, celebrate your love
Throughout the day, you’ll be able to enjoy a live fashion show, showcasing suppliers’ work styled by Coventry University fashion students, and performances from live local acts and entertainers.
To tingle those taste buds…
Step away from the buffet and put down that sausage roll! Instead, discover the new trend of al fresco and alternative dining with Scoff, as associated with the renowned Digbeth Dining Club. Scoff will be supplying food vendors – Spectacular Goat, Big Daddies Diner, Canoodle, and more. There will be enough taste explosions and variety to please the fussiest of guests!
To quench that thirst…
The Drinks Bus, an alternative bar set up in an old double decker red bus, will be there all day supplying you with lovely refreshments to quench that thirst, with seating available on deck.
Sunday, April 19th: Arts & Crafts, wedding edition
We’ll have a variety of live craft seminars all day to inspire the creative bride and groom to DIY those little homemade touches.
Didn’t get a chance to try out all the food on offer? Then why not come back and dig in to more culinary delights with Scoff.
To invigorate the senses…
Even more entertainment this time, featuring a fashion show entitled ‘Anti Bride,’ showcasing the work of highly talented first year student designers, and more live acts and bands.
All this and many more treats to be found all weekend! So let’s shake it up and celebrate individuality, personality and fun. Allow us to inspire your alternative desires for your big day.
Warning: This is not your average wedding fair – we expect a high risk of inspiration overload and an excess of excitement!
