This blog is fast becoming a gallery of styled shoots. I love them! They provide so much eye candy and inspiration, plus a glimpse into all of the wonders your suppliers can magic up for you for your wedding day. This one is inspired by one of the most romantic fairy tales, Cinderella, which is the epitome of getting glammed up for a special day, and yet also being truly loved for who you are, even when you’ve got back into your raggy home clothes!!
This is a classic imagining of Cinders; an exquisite version full of splendour and luxury. I’m really in love with this wonderful shoot for its palette of golds and ivories, accented cleverly with hot pinks, warm cobalt blues, and peaches for pop value, its obvious romantic leanings owing to the corsets, tiaras and crowns, and the easily achievable details of painted pumpkins. Romance and style at its best from some of my favourite suppliers.
And Blenheim Palace is the perfect venue for whisking your imagination into romance and fairy tale. A grand setting, indeed!
The story of the shoot
Here’s super stylist Charlotte from Miss Munro to tell you more about the day and the fabulous suppliers:
“This shoot came about because I’ve always loved Cinderella, and when I heard about the new film, I knew brides everywhere would look to it for inspiration for their wedding! I wanted to show how brides can take elements from their favourite fairy tale and incorporate it into their big day in a grown-up sophisticated way. In styling weddings, it’s the details that matter, and you can very easily create a beautiful story with the right elements.
“Two of the biggest challenges I faced in this shoot were finding the right venue and the right photographer. Having a great photographer on board is the pinnacle of all good shoots, and is so important on your wedding day. When I thought of the idea, the first person I thought of was San of Sanshine Photography. She captures everything with such attention to detail, and I love the way she works with natural light. Luckily, she was happy to come on board and together we found the venue – the wonderful Blenheim Palace.
“One of my favourite elements of this shoot is the table-scape. We had fabulous florist Liz from Blue Sky Flowers on board, who really took what I had envisioned and ran with it, even accommodating my hand-painted pumpkins so that they became part of the whole floral display. Jinder from The Finer Details created stunning bespoke stationery for the day, matching the shades of blue perfectly. My favourite pieces are the place names that hang from the beautiful Blenheim Palace glasses.
“Gold chargers with matching blue napkins from hire company Couvert, along with cupcake favours, finished the table settings. All of this sat upon champagne gold sequin table linen from The Sweet Hostess, with matching chevron table linen for the cake table, which was created by Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium.
“Also on board for the day was the amazingly talented Susie of Tissue Blossoms. Creating stunning floral creations from paper, I fell in love with the giant roses and orchids she made for the day.
“Our lovely model wore dresses by two amazing designers: one by American designer Ines de Santo, which was loaned to us the by lovely team at The Wedding Club, as well as bespoke pieces by British designer Chantal Mallett, with a gorgeous crown to match!
“Our hair and make-up team, comprising Joyce from Brides and Beauty and Hayley King Hair Artist, created the perfect looks for our fairy tale theme. With stunning details like blue glitter eye shadow and flowers in the hair, they perfectly captured the style of a true princess-bride.”
