Earlier this year, Tantrums and Tiaras (a family run tiara and wedding jewellery company) unveiled its 2015 collection ‘Maharaja’. Kelly Scully, the founder and designer/maker of the brand, sent me this fun styled shoot set in a 1920s railway station. I love how you can see the sophisticated context of the pieces in the luxury train shots, but that they also suit the more alternative bride in her short 1990s style dress teamed with heavy black boots. Versatile pieces, indeed.
Kelly tells me,
“Maharaja is a collection of East meets West headpieces, designed to give style and glamour to any bridal look. The new range features big jewels, delicate mehndi inspired details and pretty, metallic tones, reminiscent of the British Indian Empire era.
“The pieces have already been attracting a huge amount of attention from brides who have come to my studio and their reaction to the collection has been very exciting for me.
“I wanted to create a collection so versatile that each piece will suit myriad bridal styles. Whether it’s a relaxed boho vibe, a serene beach destination, or a rustic vintage countryside wedding, there’s something for all tastes, settings and themes.”
The collection starts at just £40, which is a steal for such elegant pieces. And the really cool bit is that bespoke pieces can be made to match other features of the wedding outfit, such as detailing on dresses. How great is that!! If it’s a detail you’ve set your heart on, to match accessories to another bit of your outfit, you need not worry about searching high and low for something that you might never fine. Kelly will work her magic and make it for you!
