As lookbooks go, this one for Lucid Dolls is a belter. Alternative bridal to the max. Whether it’s for the bride, bridesmaids or a killer guest outfit, there’s a dress here for them all. It’s the latest collection from Oh My Honey, and it’s inspired largely by designer Louise’s trip to Miami. You can see the influence immediately in the punchy colour palette, and the defiant attitude of ‘I’m different, and I love it.’
“Inspired by the party scenes from Vegas and Miami, and the 1950s of course, Lucid Dolls brings together an eclectic mix of bold block colours and trippy patterns onto classic 50s silhouettes.”
A simple sweetheart neckline, and dipped hem dress, made with beautiful matte satin fabric. With an amazing ombré choppy tulle petticoat, fading from ivory to candy pink, bursting out from underneath. Sure to turn heads and not for the faint of heart! The petticoat can be made in your custom colour combinations to suit your taste and wedding colours.
The Alabama dress embraces clashing colours with hot pink satin layered with turquoise Chantilly lace on the bodice, and bold yellow skirt with gathered tulle over the top. Iridescent gems decorate the front of the bodice, and a bright pink and gold zip features on the back.
On this design, I collaborated with stylist Twinks Burnett, who designed a print featuring Barbie, My Little Pony and disco balls amongst many other things! A sweetheart neckline and fitted skirt give a nod to the classic ’50s shape, with a cluster of pom poms and sparkle on the bodice front. The dress also features a peplum on the skirt, underlined with orange satin and trimmed with purple pom poms.
Kitty is a fab fitted fifties number with lime green lace and gold sequin and bead detail around the hem and straps.
Pastel pink Chantilly lace and satin combined with soft turquoise tulle make Candy a fun but sophisticated dress. A cute tulle bow sits on one shoulder, whilst iridescent gem stones adorn the other.
Like the Dakota above, a collaboration with stylist Twinks Burnett.
Love hearts scattered all over luscious red tulle is the feature of this cute and sexy dress! An orange satin base makes the hearts pop, and the bodice features gold and pink bead work.
Bright and bold, the Vivienne dress uses a beautiful Chantilly Lace, which has closely set, all over floral motifs. The embroidery sits on quite an open tulle, and the edges of the flowers are corded to make them stand out. The skirt has a tulle layer trimmed with pink, like the neckline, which also features pink lace detail with gold beads and sequins. A pink belt with large silk organza bow attached is also included and can be worn at the front or back of the dress.
Made with luxurious parakeet coloured silk that catches the light beautifully, the Madison dress is going to turn heads at any party! A hot pink winged neckline and green lace and gold beaded details adorn the bodice, and the dipped hem is trimmed with pink, lime and silver trim.
Made with luxurious regal silk that holds a crisp shape and reflects light beautifully, Amber is a bold but elegant design that has a flattering cut and features green silk and lace detail at the front, framed by a hot pink trim that wraps around the front and leads to the zip at the back.
Bear in mind that the petticoats shown in the pictures don’t always come as part of the purchase, but do check with Oh My Honey about buying one separately.
