I do love so much the bride’s beautiful hair; like a goddess! And her wonderful birdcage tattoo on display through the backless dress is stunning. Add in the peacock details, and that brilliant black backdrop of the venue’s gate, and you have one heck of an effortlessly stylish wedding day.

Cassie and Alex met in a local rock club called The Tache, and a few years later Alex proposed on Cassie’s 29th birthday:

“He drove me to a spot we went to when we first met. I was blindfolded all the way there, and then he got down on one knee in the rain.”

The Story of the Wedding

Zo and Liam, who photographed the couple’s big day, said,

“Cassie and Alex’s vintage-inspired wedding day took place at Samlesbury Hall, a wonderful half-timbered medieval house in Lancashire. This historic hall and its grounds are apparently renowned for being one of the most haunted locations in Britain, although, fortunately for us, the big day was a spook-free affair, instead, decorated and uniquely styled with peacock influences by buddies of ours, Beautifully Vintage.

“Cassie looked stunning in her perfectly detailed dress and vintage-inspired hairstyle (hair colour envy!) alongside her bridesmaids, who were all equally rocking swing dresses with petticoats. The whole day was full of laughter with close family and friends all relaxing and enjoying the sunshine, going through into the evening with jukebox sounds and The Mighty Boof!”

The bride told me,

“for our venue, we chose Samlesbury Hall for the whole event as we both loved the history behind the building, and I love the old character style and wanted to have a really vintage feel.”

Music was important to the couple, too, walking down the aisle to Sweet Disposition by Temper Trap, and the bride’s favourite moment being,

“our first dance (You Belong to Me by Lifehouse); we both got lost in the moment and felt there was no-one else in the room with us…”
