This styled shoot is all about the hot colours, majestic patterns and the shiny, shiny jewellery and props. It’s extremely glamorous and luxurious, as well as having quite a laid back and bohemian feel. If you want to add an extra something to your festival or field wedding, then this is the post for you…
The Story of the Shoot by Emma of Best Day Ever
I decided to do a shoot that combines two cultures. As a celebrant and wedding stylist, I create unique ceremonies based on the personalities and beliefs of the couple and then follow this throughout their wedding styling, so the whole wedding from start to end really is all about the couple. I wanted to do a shoot that portrays this.
I love India! I lived in India for over a year and it has my heart; it’s my spiritual home, and I love the vibrant colours that can be found there. It just so happened that I was going to Morocco for my mini-moon, so I filled up my suitcase with lanterns, and in Morocco everyone drinks mint tea out of beautiful gold and silver pots, so I just had to buy one!
I had worked previously on a wedding at Worden House and thought it would be the perfect place for the shoot with its exclusive feel and outdoor swimming pool. It was boiling hot day the day of the shoot and it really did feel like we were somewhere exotic. I had recently had my own wedding and so asked my amazing photographer Emma at Freckle Photography if she would like to be involved. I was soooo chuffed when she said yes!
There’s a great bunch of local creative suppliers who I wanted to work with, and so I got them together to create this shoot. We had such a fun day! I wanted to create a boho meets glam, laid back vibe, with a feeling of exotic. Elaine Day created some gorgeous food to add an extra touch. And we were lucky enough to eat it afterwards, and it was super yummy.
