There’s so much retro kitsch in this shoot!! I can’t love it enough!! Sugary shades, 1970s ornaments and furniture, 1950s hair and make-up, even my favourite the 1980s gets a look-in on the jewellery side.
The clash of all these works, and again proves you can bring together all the things you love at your wedding, no matter if they are wildly varying. Your wedding day is truly a day you can indulge your loves and passions and represent yourselves fully and eclectically in style. Do not hold back!
The Story of the Shoot by Becky Ryan Photography
“Taking some inspiration from what was my upcoming holiday at the time, I wanted to do something around a Palm Springs-esque colour palette of retro pastel pinks and mint. I also felt inspired from having seen some wonderfully colourful real life brides lately. Ladies no longer feel as obligated to stick to traditional white and ivory if that’s not who they are, and it’s fabulous to see some quirkiness being embraced.
“A large part of bringing the vision to a reality was done with the help of Orange Tree Weddings, who really brought the retro kitsch to the shoot with their wonderful styling and great array of props.
“Our brides’ quirky and colourful dresses were created from scratch (featuring some sequin applique loveliness) from local dress makers Bella Figura, based in Matlock.”
