Ann Marie Faulkner Launches Night Blooms 2018

If you were to ask us what we love here at Way Out Wedding, we’d probably reply with exceptional design, badass inspiration and things being made with love. And it seems like the millinery wizard that is Ann-Marie Faulkner is speaking our language with her brand new bridal accessory collection, the gorgeous thing! Aptly named ‘Night Blooms’, both in homage to the twilight nights spent at the studio crafting the collection (as the days were spent caring for her equally gorgeous newborn, Woody), and the beauty and magic that can be found in the nighttime and the dark, it’s a veritable oasis of texture, pattern, and undeniable cool.

Flossy & Dossy Wedding Dresses and Modiste Accessories – A Very Elegant Collaboration

This gorgeous shoot introduces a new premium collaborative collection by Flossy & Dossy and Modiste, “where Edwardian meets modern, creating stunning, aisle-worthy looks that update brides with colour, elegant embellishment, and offers separates and cover-up options for comfort and trend. Dresses by Flossy & Dossy are teamed with dedicated accessories, designed especially for this collection by Modiste.”

The results are pure elegance and sophistication. I think I would feel a million bucks in all of these! Like a film star!

Rosey Posey Creations Bridal Headpieces in a Ballet Inspired Film at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich

Carys Watford Rosey Posey Creations Ballet Film

Not so long ago, I showed you a magical fashion film that Carys Watford and her team created to showcase the headpieces of Rosey Posey Creations. It was a dreamy and summery morning shoot set in fields of bluebells, and it was like another little world. Well, they’ve teamed up again, and this time it’s all about the ballet and the elegance of dance. And it shows how versatile Claire’s creations are because this sophisticated shoot is very different to her alternative ones, such as Dolly Goes to the Seaside and our Tim Burton themed one!

Vivienne Westwood Bridal and Groom Inspiration

You’ll know by now that I love Vivienne Westwood. The voluptuous drapes and quirky structures of her dresses are perfect for bridal. Showstopping bridal. As an affiliate, I hear about discounts and special offers, and today I have a great one for you: there’s FREE worldwide shipping until midnight on August 31st, 2015. I thought I’d take the opportunity to show you my favourite bits and bobs from the Vivienne Westwood website for your wedding inspiration. The couture, capsule, made to order and bridal collections require you to be fitted at the Davies Street store, obviously, but the groom accessories, shoes and jewellery can be bought online with the free shipping offer. Just use the code – FREEWWDEL – at the checkout.

Capsule collection AW15/16

Before I show you the more traditional bridal, I thought you might like to see the capsule collection for more offbeat choices of dress. It’s good to be open-minded about looking at designers’ ranges other than straight-up bridal. Any of these could be wedding-appropriate in today’s world. I think my favourite dress to walk down the aisle in is the pink one with the belt. Killer.

Couture collection AW15/16

These are much more familiar as bridal in shape and structure, but the colours add a drama perfect for a way out bride.

Bridal made to order AW15/16

Even though these are much more traditional in terms of colour and shape, there’s no mistaking the Westwood touches.

Bridal collection AW15/16

My favourite range of the recognisably bridal collections, definitely. Far quirkier than the range above, these designs lean on the boundaries much more and are very much statement pieces.

We cannot skip over shoes when it comes to a Vivienne Westwood bride. Those well-known gorgeous PVC shoes are colourful and sexy, not to mention affordable for designer apparel, and so are incredibly popular among alternative brides. They’re becoming a cult item. I’ve also chosen some others from the range that I love.

Alternative brides, check these out for your jewellery: we have skulls, bones, keys to the heart and a three-loop set of pearls with the famous orb. These pieces are excellent in their difference, and yet not too different to upset your mum.

There are very few men’s ranges that get me excited, but Vivienne Westwood’s are one of them. Men are never boring with her. There’s just as much colour, pattern, innovative drapery and theatre in these garments as with the women’s collections. Grooms often get left behind in the wedding planning, so for the ones who want a piece of the sartorial action on the big day, Vivienne Westwood is where to go!

She Riot – Badass Wedding Apparel for Alternative Brides

She Riot_073

These beauties caught my eye in a big way. Fun and alternative bride-to-be, maid of honour, bridesmaid and wifey apparel with a rock ‘n’ roll heart. Something refreshingly different for your hen/bachelorette party and beyond! And husbands are included, too!

The story behind the clothing

She Riot_128

She Riot is side-project of Anne Lindeman from the brilliant alternative wedding blog, Clever Wedding Ideas, and her husband, Derek. Anne explains,

“She Riot is a rock inspired, independent clothing line created for bachelorette parties, brides-to-be and newlyweds. The idea came to me in my twenties when I absolutely dreaded the idea of being a bachelorette party clone whose only option was to wear a cheap, hot pink bedazzled tee reading a corny, cliché pun. While I loved the idea of being part of a bride tribe, I always wanted to stay to true to who I was, but stylistically on my own terms.

She Riot_035

“With a growing indie wedding audience from my blog and marriage to a successful screen printer, it was essentially a no-brainer for Derek and me to partner up and transform my idea of an edgy wedding apparel line for indie brides into a reality. Following Derek’s Top Rope Tuesday business model, all shirts are made by us (and by hand) upon ordering and handled from start to finish in-house. That means when you have a question, problem or want to give some us feedback, chances are Derek or I will be handling it. Even my teenage daughter Deanna is lending a helping hand, so you can say that this business is truly a family affair!”

What makes a girl She Riot?

“She Riot ditches the wedding party clone persona and encourages bride tribe girl power without the sacrifice of individuality. A She Riot girl has edge, she has style and above all she is ready to party! AND she isn’t afraid to rock a sexy heel with a killer shade of red lipstick. She’s hardcore, she’s badass, she’s beautiful – she’s She Riot!”

The Whiskey Dame

“Inspired by a devout love of whiskey and dive bars, this collection will make you a proud member of your bridal gang. Meow!”
