If you’re a newlywed, photographer, or wedding supplier who wants to be featured on Way Out Wedding, here is a guide to the ways you can submit and the things I publish.
What I’m Looking For
Way Out Wedding has become mostly about the editorial styled shoot, and I publish these more than any other type of post, but I also love to show dress designers’ new collections, real weddings, engagement sessions, boudoir shoots, and trash/bless the dress shoots.
In terms of style, I’m looking for the offbeat, the handmade, the creative, the contemporary and the real. I want to show mad love shining through the style of the day in weddings, and killer style and boundary-pushing where shoots are concerned.
Details to include for brides and grooms: your names; venue; wedding date; ten low-res images or direct link to an online gallery (Dropbox preferred); and a short paragraph on your Way Out Wedding day. Permission from your photographer to use the images is a must.
Details to include for photographers: name; website; location; ten low-res images or direct link to an online gallery (Dropbox preferred); and a bit about the wedding or shoot you’re submitting.
If I Accept your Submission
Real wedding couples will be sent a questionnaire to complete, and I can’t publish without this. If it’s a shoot, I’ll need the list of collaborators along with all social media handles plus a write-up of the inspiration and details behind it all. Dress designers will be sent a questionnaire, but I also accept press releases in this instance, but will rewrite in my own voice.
Wedding Supplier Posts
If you’re a wedding supplier and would like to feature on the blog, please do get in touch. This will be a paid post, and further information on how to work with Way Out Wedding can be found on the advertising page. Details to include in your email: company name; service provided, website, location, and what makes you perfect for Way Out Wedding couples.
Are you running a modern and alternative wedding fair? Do you have a wedding industry seminar on the cards? Email me the information, along with the flyer at 1000 pixels wide, and it’ll be added to the wedding fairs and events page. ***Free of charge at the moment!!***
Guest Posts and Infographics
I don’t accept on spec guest posts or infographics, so please don’t email with these – I cannot reply.
Products for Review
From time to time, I get sent products and gifts. This is genuinely lovely, and I’m always over the moon to receive them, but please note that this does not guarantee a blog feature. Also, I am unable to return any products.
Where to Send your Submission
Submissions should be emailed to email@example.com. I can’t respond on Facebook messenger or Instagram, etc., so make sure you email!
I don’t mind if you’ve been featured on other blogs and magazines, but I do like to avoid publishing at the same time as them so please do say if you have submitted elsewhere; it won’t affect my decision on whether or not to publish, only when I do.
A Note from the Editor
With all submissions, accepting and declining is at the editor’s discretion and this decision is final. Also, permission from the photographer is essential – I can’t publish without this.
I am looking forward to hearing from you!!
Big, big love,
PS – If you’ve been featured on my blog in any way, and you’d like to say so on your own website, please don’t hesitate to ask me for a badge.
