Underneath all the fuss, frill, fluff and frippery, weddings are about two people madly in love. That’s what we’re here to celebrate, and what we love to see. So when this engagement shoot came through from the amazing Agnes Black, we were SO excited to share it! Our love for the extraordinary city of Manchester extends way past the (incredible) music scene and to the heart of the city itself – a deliciously gritty urban metropolis, with real soul beating through its streets. This makes it the perfect location for an engagement shoot for an edgy couple who just want to be their damn selves around each other, and not have photos that are awkwardly posed, stuffy as hell, and confined to the back of the attic until you move…

So, you’ve got an incredible city to be yourselves in – now what do you need? A spectacular photographer to capture it, of course. Stage left, enter Agnes Black. Specialising in candid, natural documentary-style photography, rich and moody and saturated with style, she’s a total photography witch (in the über-cool, alchemy and magic kind of way). Always capturing the perfect light and finding the best frame, her oozing passion for love stories and the finer details make you feel totally at home when you’re having your engagement photos taken, and mean the photos that you get from it are totally magical – just like Kelly & Tom’s here.

“This is one of my FAVE couple shoots. I recently got to hang out in the Manchester Northern Quarter with Kelly & Tom – we walked about, found some seriously cool spots and just hung out whilst they did their thing. These two were amazing, so cool and completely in love, meaning they rocked it in front of the camera.

City sessions provide such an awesome urban and cool backdrop for images! There is always something colourful, quirky or cool around, and the hustle and bustle going on helps create a street documentary feel to the images! I can’t wait to hang out in Manchester again!”

We are head-over-heels for this gorgeous couple and their gorgeous shoot, loving the mix of backdrops and elements to create an unbelievably cool curation. Those doorways and old window frames, plus the incred street art and those deep black bricks…this totally has my heart!
