Would you just look at the styling prowess of this wedding inspiration shoot? Greenery – check. Doughnuts – check. Insta-hot stationery – check. Modern bridal designed to make you feel like a QUEEN – check, check, and all day check. All the suppliers involved here totally brought their A-game. You had us at hello.

It was accessories-maker Claire Hill who sent this happy and colourful dream our way, so here she is to tell the story of how it all went down…

“Working with the amazing Rachel Burgess Bridal Boutique, we wanted to create a shoot that not only showcased my new bridal accessory range – a mix of leather and hand-painted silk flower hair vines and sashes – but also celebrated some of the amazing Welsh bridal talent we have on our doorstep.

“Taking over independent shop home byKirsty, we dressed her chipboard walls with her impressive array of house plants and commissioned renowned florist Beth, from Forbesfield to create dramatic fern bouquets, allowing us to transform the space into an indoor forest with a ‘Scandi luxe’ twist. We also filled the walls with posters from local stationery designer Sadler Jones – her slogans and designs are bold and come in amazing pops of colour.”

“Laid back and cool, we wanted to challenge some of the stereotypes of the traditional bride, especially corseted dresses that need dieting to get into. We all want brides to feel like themselves on their best day for their wedding, and we were keen to pay homage to that in the shoot. This was also true with the relaxed and slightly undone feel of the hair by Bethan Lewis and natural glowy make-up from Nikki Louise.”

“My new collection of accessories is focused on easy to wear but standout hair vines, headbands and veils, adorned with silk or leather flowers. Every flower is painted, cut and shaped using traditional millinery skills, then arranged to create stunning and modern flower accessories in rich golds, silver, rose gold and pink. From hair vines to double flower crowns, I wanted to create show-stopping finishing touches to a bride’s outfit.”

“Teaming my delicate lightweight handmade headpieces and bridal sashes with stunning dresses from Amy Mair Couture, E&W Couture and Ffrog, our models Himanshi and Shani captured the vibe perfectly – with their fun and confident approach, the entire team was a dream to work with! Oliver J Photography captured the styled shoot to a T and was a joy to work with – he has such a brilliant eye for all the small (but significant) details!”

“We also couldn’t resist having some amazing sweet treats on the day from The Early Bird. It’s really disheartening to see so much of the run-up to a wedding become a pressure to look a certain way on the day, and you rarely see images of brides eating sugary food and enjoying themselves. We wanted to buck that trend and so asked The Early Bird to create some delicious doughnuts and pastries – that got everyone smiling and eating. If you look closely, you might even spot sugary lips! Let’s celebrate women as they are and say ‘sod the wedding diet thing – now is a time to celebrate’!”

“So put on Beyoncé, find your dream dress, and shimmy down the aisle with the confidence that you’re just perfect.”

We could NOT agree MORE!!
