As the infamous song goes: glitter, faux fur, slick 90s realness, and beautiful blooms stuck up with tape – these are a few of our favourite things…when Tara Florence got in touch with this dreamy shoot, aimed at the bride who gets married on a whim at Wilderness Festival, we were immediately bowled over by its outright corker-yness. It doesn’t disappoint!
“The first few months of the year are a quiet time for those of us in the wedding industry.” Tara explains. “There’s definitely somewhat of a lull. Your creativity takes a back seat, then all of a sudden – boom – you get the urge to create something again. I count my blessings that over the years I’ve accumulated a great tribe of girls (and guys!) that are in the same boat and we love to collaborate together. So one snowy day in March, me and a few of my wedding friends got together to do something a lil’ bit different.”
Daisy from Fairytale Weddings chose some stunning Charlie Brear and Eliza Jane Howell dresses with clean, simple lines for maximum minimalist impact (yeah, we went there). Jo Tromans worked her magic on Emily with a deep berry lip and a muted eye whilst Jo Taylor Bates pulled off a super slick ’90s look for a space babe feel. “Hi-shine and maximum gloss were the order of the day – not your traditional bridal look…”
The elegant, minimalistic dresses were styled with a deliciously decadent headpiece by Headspace Headdresses, complete with iridescent gems and fluff, alongside a dreamy pink faux fur jacket – so. much. fluff.
“When we collaborate like this we usually put a Pinterest board together beforehand so everyone involved is on the same page regarding the look and vibe. I nonchalantly pinned an image of a flower wall and the awesome Steph from Me and My Bloomers brought it to life before our eyes, taping individual stems to the wall to create the most gorgeous modern backdrop. Most of Steph’s creations are made with home grown flowers from her garden in Northamptonshire, she has a brilliant knack for mixing flora and fauna, and teamed thistles with carnations, eucalyptus and roses. Love, love, LOVE!”
This flower wall was continued onto the cake from Lilibet Bakes, who created the most incredible sugar wafer flowers to sit row upon row around the cake, adding height and beautiful detail.
And from cake to eye candy, a treat for yo’ tongue and yo’ eyes – check out the video below for some visual goodies from the shoot!
