Disco Isn’t Dead

I have a LOT of love for the 1970s (Star Wars, Punk, I was born…etc.) and its D.I.S.C.O. heart. And when two of our directory babes - Lucy Can’t Dance and The Menagerie Lifestyle Photography - join forces to create a shoot infused with that warm ‘70s orangey hue and retro props, aaaand a whole lot of 1960s in about the place for good measure, well you know I’m massively all up in that.
The shoot was to celebrate the boutique stocking some fabulous Miss L Fire wedding shoes. And with the new décor of the fitting room being based on Austin Powers's ginger shag pad, complete with a ginger furry wall, it was the perfect background to match the style of the shoes. Lucy said, “The shoot was styled as a retro house party. We used disco balls, vinyl and cute champagne glasses to get the party started.”
The wedding dresses and jumpsuit you see here are an absolute retro bridal dream - and can we just give a standing ovation for the names Lucy gives them because quite honestly they are part of the magic: Labyrinth, Planet Terror, Space Odyssey, Bride of Frankenstein, and Pussy Galore… HELLO! Pop culture perfection.
