Lucky Pineapple Bar Launch Party

Away back in May, I went to THE most wonderful party. The sun was shining, I was dressed up all fancy, there were smiley happy wedding supplier friends everywhere, delicious food, and in the middle of it all was a large golden pineapple serving up cocktails. Sounds like something out of a book or a dream, but it was real and it was showstoppingly beautiful.
Today, we’re chatting with the dreamboat that is Hayley Simpson, the powerhouse behind the brand, who had a vision of a gold mobile cocktail bar in the shape of your fave tropical fruit and rather than just think ‘what a lovely image’ actually brought it to LIFE (I was going to say fruition ahaaaa), as she tells us all about what went into the styling of the party of the year. Hold onto your pineapples, this is a cast of a thousand superstars…
the incredible lucky pineapple launch party
“The launch party of giant golden pineapple mobile bar was never going to be a low key affair! To celebrate the Lucky Pineapple bar finally being ready to rock at parties and pop-ups this summer and beyond, some of the best suppliers in the biz came together to host an early summer soirée and styled shoot to provide event planners and super cool couples a bucket load of inspo and, of course, a good old knees-up for the guests in attendance!”
the EXTRA AF styling
“‘Tropical Maximalism’ was the décor and styling brief for the event, with a relaxed yet super luxe vibe to be created across all the party features. More was definitely more, and Ashleigh from Pink Palms nailed the brief, creating mood boards for not one, but THREE styled areas inspired by the hero of Tropical Maximalist design, House of Hackney. Each styled area needed to be Instagrammable, functional, and showcase all of the amazing suppliers and contributors to the max!”
“Assisted by Rebecca from The Wedding Spark, the stylists pulled together a stellar line up of florists and prop houses to decorate each area and set the mood.”
“The Collect Collective showcased their collection of furniture and trinkets including Persian rugs and an amazing double peacock chair that wowed guests. Boutique Blooms provided a floral display of pink and plume, that complemented the pieces perfectly.”
“Illuminated signs were provided by the best of the best, Vowed & Amazed. The showstopper gold glitter letters spelling LUCKY were a fitting centrepiece for the event, again providing endless photo opportunities and Instgrammable moments. Vowed & Amazed also created a new custom piece for the event, a fluorescent pink hoop light decorated with tropical palm leaves and foliage.”
Pops & Twine provided big beautiful bunches of balloons in gold and pink tones, a perfect addition to the proceedings.
smiley happy guests!
The Beautiful gem of a Venue
“The Geffrye Museum building was the grandiose back drop for the Lucky launch with its luscious green front lawns - a secluded oasis in the middle of London’s busy Shoreditch. The Geffrye hosts weddings and corporate functions on the lawns throughout the year, offering an array of incredible packages and hands-on support to all clients.”
The Food glorious food
“Guests were treated to a line up of foodie delights. Wood fired pizza from Dough & Deer was served in a converted Land Rover Defender that doubles as a pizza oven!”
“The Humble Crumble bar is the sweet treat option you never knew you NEEDED at your next event until NOW. Guests tucked in to pots of crumble and custard topped with boozy sauces - this was a party, after all!”
“Malarkey Cakes showcased her epic cake masterpieces, designed to fit the styling brief of the event perfectly with luxurious gorgeous palm prints and a display table decked out to match gorgeously.”
The fancy pants Drink
“The Lucky Pineapple provided a menu of beer, fizz and cocktails to suit all kinds of tipple tastes. Most popular on the night were the Piña Colada Slushies, served with super kitsch gold straws and umbrellas, the Pineapple Bellinis, and the Paloma cocktail with tequila, grapefruit soda and salt.”
the twinkly Lights & the bangin’ Sounds
“A/V company Sonny Evans Events took care of all sound and lighting needs for the event, offering an amazing end-to-end service, on hand all day to support the power set up of all suppliers, set up lighting and music, and then quickly pack down at the end of the night.
“They also provided garlands of festoon lighting to drape across big trees to create atmospheric lighting that twinkled as the sun went down.
“A DJ booth was erected to host acts throughout the evening, with full tech support provided to ensure all went smoothly. Scott Simpson kick started the music line-up, bringing topical holiday vibes with his Latin and funk set as guests arrived. Sonny Evans himself then did an amazing disco set as part of his A/V services, and his tunes got guests in the party mood.”
the cutest Personalised Touches
“The Lucky launch featured little touches and activities for guests to love and enjoy!
“A welcome booklet was given out to guests as they arrived. The booklet contained a short interview with each of the suppliers so guests knew what what what as they partied the night away, as well has a keepsake to use for their own future event planning needs!”
“Anessa Diane created custom acrylic signs, listing all the event suppliers, which were displayed in each styled area. These were an amazing way to share information with guests, without compromising on style.”
“Maid of Gingerbread launched her new custom lucky fortune cookies, which are now available to order for wedding favours and gifts! Special Lucky Pineapple cookies were made and distributed to guests during speeches. At the end of the speeches, all guests were asked to open their fortune cookies to read the custom messages put in by Lucky Pineapple and Maid of Gingerbread Maid. One lucky person received a golden ticket inside their cookie, winning a Lucky Pineapple cocktail glass to take home!”
“A Beautiful Weirdo set up an eco glitter station, treating guests faces to a sparkle explosion.”
the incredibly cool Photography & Videography
“Parrot & Pineapple photography captured photos of the event in her classic fun and colourful style that fitted the brief perfectly.
“Working alongside her was Electric Blue // Photos & Film, capturing the events on video for an after movie in her super cool and creative style.”
